In some thread on s10forum P.P. said they were still 45-60 days out on the tall B.J.'s.

I installed a flaming river steering joint on the truck today. I picked it up used off of s10forum for $45 shipped.

Vid of rag-joint slop.  Truck has 74K miles and didn't have any obvious symptoms of loose steering.

It feels great now.  Very connected and precise.  Someone mentioned it may transmit vibrations or noise through the shaft but I didn't notice anything different.

I used a late modle Cherokee shaft in the blazer. I have yet to try it out, but it fits well.
If you can't say anything nice.. post it on the internet!

I've done the cherokee mod and while it improved the steering there are 2 things I would do differently.  Either get the flaming rivers or use the lower cherokee U joint and merge it with the upper portion of the stock shaft.  That does two things in my mind: eliminates the extra joint and doesn't require modifying the column at all.  Fortunately for me I have another manual no tilt column out of the race truck to swap in when I decide which direction I want to go.  For $45 I'd totally do the flaming rivers joint.

I ordered a set of Howe tall upper ball joints today  ;D

I'm going to try to do this in pseudo wallet-friendly steps and my uppers need replacing now so this will be the jump-off point.  I'll replace the lowers with talls when they go and I'll probably have to do upper control arms at the same time to let me align it.

Marcus at SC&C said the tall uppers alone should give me a basically neutral camber curve - maybe a slight positive gain just off of ride height and then back to neutral which should be a big improvement over stock.

I got some new parts in the mail this week.  The tall upper BJs finally arrived but I'm still waiting (2 months now) on the UB machine upper control arms.

Picked up a new set of HAL stocker star AL's for the front - these things are a masterpiece in person, beautiful!   :o

Also piecing together a wet nitrous kit from cheap ebay bits

Wonder what's up with those arms.
What did the shocks end up costing if you don't mind?

Finally got my UB Machine arms - they look great!

Next auto-X race is on sunday but I won't have a chance to get them in and have it aligned before then.

So the UCAs ended up taking about 3 months to get? Do you think I should expect the same type of wait when I order mine? Did they ever give excuses???
BTW- SWEET parts you got there. Interested in hearing your feedback on everything.

The customer service was actually very good when I got things figured out.  The parts ended up getting billed and sent to another account so as far as they knew everything had been done quickly!  Once they investigated and figured out the mistake they only took about 2-2.5 weeks including cross-border shipping.  I'd expect they'd be much quicker for you!!

What kind of bushings do they use? Stock size? What material are the ones that come with the arms made of?

they use a close tolerance steel on steel greasable bushing.

stokc control arms were rubber.

after aboyt 5k on my arms, salt, sand, mud, etc, i have had no problems.
