Tire Wear Issues
« on: September 09, 2011, 03:52:19 PM »
I have a 03 S10 ext cab with UB upper arms & tall ball joints with 2.5 spacer for vette wheels with 245/45-17 tires & is stock ZQ8 suspension (except for arms)

The question is....I am getting bad wear on the inside of both front tires & would like to get more use out of tires. I would say the inside is 90% worn & the outside is only 50 % worn....less camber ???

I gave the alignment shop these specs & he said they were stock ZQ8 specs & thats what he set it at....

Camber - 1/2
Caster  +5 to +5.5
Toe  1/16 total

I would check the camber, 1/2° camber shouldn't cause that.

Thats what I was thinking so yes I am gonna have him recheck when I get new front tires.

I dont like the "Oh well, thats the way it is" story & would like to get some even wear for a change.

All new ball joints & I do take corners hard but they are few & far between & I thought the outside would wear before the inside would....

mine does the same thing......I thought bad camber, but alignment shop said it's good

thought maybe hard braking and cornering

now I'm thinking bad control arm bushings
