My trans seemed hurt before I put the truck away for the winter but it ended up just being a bit low on fluid from getting hot and dumping out the vent tube

When the trans is cold 100-160 it shifts great once it gets around 170 or so it has a "flair" when it goes to shift from 2nd to 3rd other than that it goes just fine & I am not gonna beat on it & try to make it last a while & save a little. My buddy will rebuild it for $600 when it gets time to do it.

Working on a 4.3 bulld slowly as well.

I think I'm going to continue beating on my auto until it dies and forces me to swap in my 5 speed!

It took me a very long time to find a 2wd 5 speed parts truck but I managed to get the engine (with only 63K Kms on it)/trans/pedals/plastics/console for onlyl $500

Well I have got 171,000 on the odo & it has shut off on me twice after starting up & driving 1/4 mile.  I had to get out & relieve the fuel pressure in order to get it going again.

So yesterday I bought a Denso fuel pump & installed it.......seems to run a little better & the pump is def a LOT quieter !!

Been busy as always with the Blazer keeping it going & as always try to improve it. Biggest improvement lately is a small Kenwood amp that fit under the seat & a small  Kenwood subwoofer/amp that I put in the rear behind the spare tire carrier so it all hidden & has def improved the sound quality.

Peeled the majority of the plastidip off the body leaving the front & roof black with yellow carbon fiber wrap on the hood & tailgate as they are both silver from replacing the stock hood with a Sonoma hood & the tailgate for one with no rear wiper so it cleans up the rear.

Not sure how to post pics without going thru photobucket as I am kinna slow (old)  LOL

Also been messing around with carbon fiber wrap...... I took apart the gauge lens & wrapped the inner part & then bought a new lens off a guy on ebay & glued it back together with a hot glue gun & came out pretty good. Wrapped the steering clam shell & the light switch back & a couple other pieces. The Momo steering wheel is nothing short of amazing !!  I love driving with it.

The wrap stuff is a little intimidating at first but with heat from either a hot hair drier or in small places a bic lighter works well. Just gotta get the stuff hot so it can conform to what you are covering. I have also done the A pillar covers & the door sills down by the carpet.

And some blue lighting...

I'm seeing a pattern... ha!  ;D

I'm a fan of the uncoated ZQ8's. The blacked out wheels look nice too, but they just pop so much more in original condition.

Looks great!

What's the deal with insurance and removing your airbag for the Momo wheel? I had a Momo and hub but eventually sold it because of the insurance liability. I kept the hub, it fits the Jimmy which didn't come with an airbag!

Yeah I go both ways on the wheels but always have gone for the sleeper look & do like how the wheels "pop" uncoated.

As far as the air bag I guess I will deal with it when it becomes a issue, they dont inspect cars here for insurance so what they dont know wont hurt them.  LOL  But will probably hurt me in the right situation.

Well I finally fixed my running problem.....it was the tune.   I dont know what changed but when I first got the truck I did all the normal stuff for a new to me 4.3.  New aluminum dist, complete tuneup, replaced O2s,CAI,remove cat & had a tune done by wait4me & the truck def run a lot better but over time things changed,it devoloped a nagging issue on dead stop starts where it "felt" like something was holding/pulling it back but then would shift & it then ran perfectly fine then the 2-3 shift was lazy sometimes if I wasnt in the throttle hard.

So I finally sent my stock pcm to Keith at pcmforless & couldn't believe the difference it made right off the bat & has only gotten better the more I drive it & I even heard it chirp the tires a couple times on the 1-2 shift  LOL  Raised the idle to 750 rpm & that cured the motor mount vib issue & he removed all torque mgmt. & with the idle raised the ac is much colder cus the fan is moving more air.

It has been so much fun to drive again I keep looking for reasons to go for a drive. But then the gas prices are going up again $3.30 for premium (ouch) so that slows down that fun.

On another topic I went & did my class for conceal carry now just waiting for the state to issue my license. Some people get theirs in as little as 2 weeks & some 2 months kinna weird but they do a lot of back ground checks & if any red flags come up that slows down how fast you get it.

Been a while but I am still rockin the Blazer.  New goodies....scored a set of 245/50R16 Michelin Pilot Sports for $450 shipped. Not a huge difference over the Falken's I have been using. They are awesome in the rain !!

Finally got my lower control arm bushings replaced today & new lower ball joints while the arms are out.  Went with std length Proforged lower ball joints. Really wanted to go with tall lower ball joints but they would have dropped it another half inch & really didnt want to go any lower as I scrape the front spoiler as is from time to time.

Went with Global West lower control arm bushings & would highly recommend them to anyone using stock arms.http://www.globalwest.net/1027.html  They make arms & bushings for S10s & Blazers. So that was the last thing I needed to replace on my front end & must say I thought the Blazer handled pretty good before now its really tight !!  When you turn the wheel it turns no soft ass rubber bushings anymore.

Also got a MSD digital 6A ignition box & installed it last night & it def cleaned up the running...just smoother overall feel & works good with the PCMforless tune.

I like it.  GM blacked out the A or B pillars on some of the 94s, so you know it's OK to do.

2003 Yellow ZQ8 4.3/4L60E Extended Cab

SPC upper & lower control arms, Howe 0.5" tall upper/lower ball joints, Hotchkis sway bars, Base S-10 598# front springs (Moog 5660), ZQ8 leaf springs without overload

Coming eventually: 2001 8.5" Blazer rear, Detroit TrueTrac

looks great! I remember when the second gen came out in '94 and my father bought one for his shop. I though they were hideous at the time!
