rear gear help.....please
« on: June 10, 2014, 05:21:26 AM »
i have an 02 blazer xtreme that someone has put an LS1, 4l60e, rear disc brakes, 10 bolt rear, not sure if it is still the stock 8.5in rear or not, and 4.10 gear. that is about all i know on this so far. i am waiting on some replies from previous owners from carfax on what all has been done.

my issue is, i drained and replaced the gear oil in the pumpkin with lucas 75w90 with the additive for limited slip. ever since i drained and replaced i have a nasty vibration coming from my rear end when the steering wheel is slightly turned either direction. only happens at around idle speed. sound and vibration goes away when the vehicle is starting to speed up. it kind of feels like i am slowly driving through thick snow.

do any of you guys have any suggestions on this?

thanks in advance,
Dirdy

yes, i know. this is why you build it, not buy it.

start with checking pinion angles, jack the rear end up, shove parts around and see if anything is loose.
my blazer is cooler than your s10
