Anyone have a 7.5 carrier laying around?
« on: September 12, 2011, 06:32:07 PM »
I've been trying to find some dimensions of the 7.5 carrier but have come up with nothing. I must be trying the wrong word combinations.

I'm just looking for a diagram with measurements or if someone has one laying around and doesn't mind measuring a couple things for me I would really appreciate it.

Andrew

Thanks Zach, I might run to the local yard and see if they've got one on the shelf I can check out. I'll let you know if I can get them so you don't have to bother. I just got rid of 2 rear diffs with them in it too. Go figure right.

went to the yard today and came up with nothing. I've got an idea from measuring one still in a housing but I really need a more accurate measurement. I stopped by the local gm parts counter as well and no luck.

This is what I'm looking for,

If I remember correctly it was  very similar scenario to the dana 30 carrier. It was to large and would need a case spacer but the ring gear was also to large and would need to be turned down a good bit (1/4, I believe) There was also issues with the flange offset which complicated things further.

Being the Dana 30 had the option of a true-trac and has the correct size ring gear and the flange offset is close enough you could fudge it with spacers I opted for that route.
