New SCCA solo classing for S10's
« on: May 01, 2012, 05:57:22 AM »
1994-04 S10's are now specifically listed under FSP in the 2012 SCCA rule book (page 192).

This is a significant change for anyone that auto-crosses regularly.  V6 trucks were formally in ESP under "V6 and V8 pickups not otherwise classified" and ESP is a much faster class.  In the last few years I was up against cars of similar weight with over twice the power but FSP is mostly base model 4 cyl econo-boxes.

There's significant room for modifications in this class as well so if you've tinkered with your truck you can still play.
03 Sonoma ECSB, 4.3 auto, bolt-ons, xtreme80 tune, ZQ8 steering box, QA1 coilovers and rear shocks, UB Machine UCAs, Spohn LCAs, tall balljoints, ZO6 wheels, race seats.

That still leaves us with older trucks and those with blazers in ESP then?

That is weird. The older trucks are specifically listed in C-prepared (page 212) but that's an even faster class.  The syclone/typhoon are listed in F-Stock and I thought I heard of someone running their truck in the stock class.
