hood pisser adjustment?

got a cowl hood, now the windshield washer sprayers spray over the windshield and onto the roof.....

what can i do to fix this?

i havent had hood squirters in many many years but I think you can stick a pin in the opening and "aim" it..

Weird, I have the identical hood and my squirters work much better than they did with the stock hood.  Can you pop them out and grind down the plastic base on the windshield side to angle them down a bit?  You may have to tinker with clip on the back side when you finish to get them tight.

my squirters were already pointed kinda high with the stock hood. maybe my line pressure is high for some reason?
i don't think i can grind away any part without introducing slop into the thing.
each nozzle is a 2pc assembly, but nothing is adjustable on it.

maybe if i have no better option by summer i'll convert to a wiper arm sprayer like my silvy had.... but that requires a junkyard trip...

i could, but fluid dynamics tells me it wont... it'll just add lag to the response.


the nozzles work with a tiny spring loaded ball check valve that works as a 'blowoff' of sorts.
so it will not spray anything till X pressure, and then the ball will move and allow fluid to pass.


i think you do have the right idea with the lowering the line pressure though.
a line restriction is what i want... now how to add restriction...

This, find some squirters from another vehicle that fit and are adjustable

aside from going to a junkyard and trial/erroring, anyone know a good way to find an adjustable nozzle vehicle that fits an s10 hood?
It's too cold to make a drive out to a junkyard for me now.

Although apparently not too cold for Harley, so i have asked him to grab me some wiper arm mount nozzles from the rear wipers on blazers.... which i think i can make work easily.

harley mentioned that idea and i think that would be the easiest method, but since Harley was able to pick up goodies for me I think im going to pursue the wiper arm mounted spray idea.

I always liked that feature on the silvy. not really sure why ALL cars havent adopted that yet.

Because it's different thinking... & we all know that thinking differently/outside the box scares te crap out of people.

It is also more moving parts as well as more parts in general.  Less durability and costs more?  Sounds exactly like something an OEM would avoid if they have another solution that meets the needs of the customer.  Doesn't mean that technology improvements can't overcome the downfalls in the future.  Same thing goes for the hood pissers too.

My squirters do the same thing with the same hood......i try not to spray until I'm going at least 45mph.  I was going to do the arm squirters but didn't feel like welding the hood holes.

i have noticed the faster i go, the better it gets..
so not a high priority now, but i'd still like to attempt converting to on-arm sprayers, or maybe quad spray?

I believe sunfires/cavaliers use arm sprayers, look into that. My local parts store also sells a universal kit for arms sprayers.

I also think late model G vans used the arm sprayers, too.

Sounds like LS1 swap should fix the pissers then.

These rear Blazer squirters look so simple I'm not sure why it hasn't been done before.

The smallest plastic pieces are the squirters themselves.  Everything else is to hold the hose in place.
