Hey guys! I've had this '91 Blazer 4x4 4dr since '99 and in 2001 put a '96 Vortec w/ OBD2 conversion along with a '0411 LS1b PCM. I have converted to the marine manifold w/42# siemans inj as well to fuel the ProCharger P1SC centrifugal blower that I have run now for 10 years and 30,000 Pro-touring miles! My wife and I try for summer trips around the U.S.A. and Canada and our last trip was 7,500 miles in 3 months w/ avg of 22.5 mpg TOTAL fuel use! Best tank was 24.9 on a 200 mile leg! This was with 5-6 psi. I also have Hedman long tubes, 3" single exhaust, Camaro fan setup, 2001 Blazer extreme disc brake conversion, along with sway bars from same (had to use the lower control arms from 2001 for the sway bar end connection) also used the master cylinder giving me precious space where the P1SC intake is-the '91 master is HUGE! Of course-ABS delete. Torsen posi w/3.42. Coil over front QA-1 conversion with stock A-arms-delete torsion bars! 700r4 built (by me) with all the goodies and 2500 stall. Tuned with EFILive.com!! 2bar COS! I am now pushing 11+ psi with a different pulley for street fun!
My wife and I camp in the Blazer as much as possible and I do use 4x4 but I don't "rock-crawl", just back roads and trails-It is now in St Petersburg FL as I live in Costa Rica. My vehicle here is a jeep Cherokee with a Mitsubishi 4d56T diesel conversion and 5spd. Perfect combo for here-top speed 75mph! The Blazer has a top speed much higher than that!
I have been accumulating parts to rebuild my engine and am thinking end of 2017 for my build but still have some expensive pieces that I want (Eagle H beam rods for one) but cant afford yet. My next thing is installing an alky system I picked up-do it in Feb when I go "visit" my Blazer-it's at my sons' house. Anyway I have built my Blazer to be a ProTouring S10 Blazer-camper-thing...I've collected forged turbo pistons, new CPI cam, spgs, Ultra procomp 1.6 rockers, ect, ect...and have the plan for a mild cammed tourning motor.
Looks ugly, I love the patina, I know every scratch from the last 17 years-Although I will paint it someday...there's always somthing! Funny that people come up and talk to me about it. The blower whine is usually what attracts people. However there are a lot of first gen S10 Blazer fans-even for 4 doors!
Looking forward to sharing info's with all you beautiful people!
Good times!
Bruce
