CPI - fuel smell, long crank - regulator?
« on: April 25, 2017, 06:46:31 AM »
'94 CPI, stink of gas from the front of the truck near the driver's side but can't find a leak anywhere. It's cranking a while before starting, runs fine after that. If I turn the key on and let the fuel pump prime for a few seconds before cranking, it starts more quickly. I haven't tested fuel pressure yet as I couldn't find the schrader valve but google showed me where it was this morning so I will do that.

Sound like the fuel pressure regulator? What the hell is this CPI "nut kit" I keep reading about?
03 Sonoma ECSB, 4.3 auto, bolt-ons, xtreme80 tune, ZQ8 steering box, QA1 coilovers and rear shocks, UB Machine UCAs, Spohn LCAs, tall balljoints, ZO6 wheels, race seats.

FPR might be failing into the vacuum side and evaporating out the intake.
im not familiar with the CPI setup but the diagnosis seems believable
