Nice! Those are neat old bikes. Not power houses, but smooth runners with a good ride and good torque. Where is it leaking coolant from?

Is that FWD drag car a Civic? I'm guessing based off the valve covers, but I'm so GM I know I could be wrong.

Also spy that crazy super travel suspension buggy I've seen some videos floating around for.

yup, the DARPA METS project I was working on is more publicly released so it's allowed to be shown now

here's a pic i took setting up a show

started working on some protection for the underbits.

square bar steel frame with some aluminum plates bolted in 6 points.

I think it'll be pretty solid for whatever i get the miata into.

Finished up the skidplate, should be able to actually whip up a flag mount soon enough.
I'll be going offroading (or I've been calling it softroading) early next month when i have a free weekend

Finally got around to having fun at the local ORV park.
the miata had no problem getting through all the "green" beginner trails and some "blue" intermediate trails.
the hardest thing to deal with was predictably lack of gearing and needing to have the tires spinning to get into boost.
some clutch slipping required.

backing up in sand is very difficult without having a driven steered axle.
Got pretty beached after a failed sandy hill climb that went up in an arc

came across a guy who wasn't having as much fun as i was.
noone in our group had a winch (several of us have it normally like on my blazer but this was a "softroading event")

yup, or at least doing what it could with just 2wd open diff on crappy all season tires.
definitely fun, would do again
