.65mm or 0.026 in off diametrically.
so each stud assuming zero tolerances sees .013" difference.

my personal opinion, tolerance stackup + slop in hole vs stud = more than that.

but then again, I have never actually run the 120mm wheels on my truck, just from the numbers, I don't see an issue

ah good plan,

possibly consider bmw wheels for the 7" wide 17s

1010tires says
225/50/17 is the narrowest roughly 26" tire you can use on an 8" wheel

but there are people running 205s stretched on a 9" wheels as well

I would strongly suggest different adaptors for the BMW wheels.  They're close to the same dimensions, but people have had issues.  Some don't though.

I could probably find a complete set of 'vette wagon wheels for the price of another set of adapters so I'm definitely not going that route unless a crazy deal comes up somehow.

Do you guys think a 285/40-17 would clear on the front with a 9.5" wide C5 Z06 wheel?  I found a decent used pair of firehawks locally and I'm wondering if it's worth picking them up to abuse at auto-X?

I think Harley had some 9" soft 8s with 285s bolted up temporarily once, but you'll have to wait for him to respond. IMHO a 9.5" wide C5 Z06 wheel on the front is going to take a hell of an adapter to get out far enough to consider working, and then you may have problems with rubbing on the outside depending on your drop, but that is mostly a guesstimate.

I've been running 9.5" wide C5 wheels on the front for 2 years - they work, trust me!  There's probably a dozen guys on S10forum running them as well.  With a 2.5" spacer the only rubbing I get is a tiny bit on the driver's side upper control arm and only right at full lock.  For some reason it doesn't happen on the passenger side.

I bolted my 275/45R17 on 17x9 up front to see and Ryo actually ran them for awhile before blowing his motor.  I remember them being close or rubbing at full lock, but both of our trucksare heading in a direction that doesn't matter much.

well that makes my wheel decision easier. I can't believe there's actually that much room up there, I guess low profile tires buys you a lot.

I ran 17x9 '02 Camaro SS Wheels with a great looking stance for years.  2.25" adapters.  Personally I would have gone with 2" adapters up front as they were a bit on the "wide" side for my first gen.

SS Wheel to tie-rod clearance

16" Z28 wheel to tie-rod clearance ('95 wheels with same adapters)

Before adapters

After adapters

Thank you Adam.
