Del a Lum from GW
« on: January 04, 2021, 12:41:25 AM »
Upper bushing #1023 kit (Global West) installed using PowerBuilt #648604

Installing the Kit was a breeze(Rust-Free zone)

Be sure to have the Zerk fitting upright.

Otherwise needle point adapter #715-1215 from Napa(other places might be available, or you'll need adapter for 45* or 90* angle for grease gun to get to the spot without hitting the arms.)

I'm 55k (263k) on these and happy with these over stock bushing.

It IS stiffer than before, even with Bilstein and non ZQ8 Suspension.

However, I did use install these along with Taller lower ball joint from Proforged.  (Off set shaft recommended)

These combination makes the driving much for fun.   8)

I'm assuming this is with the stock upper control arm?

Any upgrades to your lower bushings too? I really liked the Delrin LCA bushings I got from Ridetech. I think they improved the ride with how smooth the control arm moves.

Yes, this is with stock upper arm.

I consider the same for lower bushing as well.  But I believe it might get too rough of a ride.

All this is still on stock, no zq8 suspension.

I think I'll go with stock lower bushing but get leaf spring bushing/shackle made with delrin.

Fresh stock rubber bushings aren't a bad choice for street/daily trucks. I think much of the complaint about rubber bushings is due to them being worn out when the bushings are replaced with something else.

On the flip side I do think the free movement of a Delrin bushing can also give a level of a good ride. The rubber bushings resist movement, but even after torqueing down to spec on the Delrin, my LCAs moved freely. I did see an improvement in ride once I got the shocks dialed in on my Blazer, but it also wasn't an apples to apples comparison from what I had before as I changed many parts of the suspension (and also didn't have rubber lower bushings before).
