The banks sidewinder is a wet dream to me. Full tube chassis with a pikes peak GMC body and a 6.6L twin turbo duramax putting about 1000ft/lbs to the rear tires, YUM!

Oh, and @ the VW, I saw a rabbit a few years ago with a newer 2.0T in it, a pretty trick suspension set-up off the first gen GTI's and porsche brakes all the way around. It only made about 220hp, but it was a fun little truck surprisingly. I'd still rather get a G-body elky, but hey, why not?

The VW must be fast - the 200 mph tape is peeling off the door

I'd rock that Rabbit. I could have fun with a little bastard like that.

I like the front end of that s10, wonder if there's someway to adopt it for street use.

looks like a C3 Vette IRS with a custom coilover setup instead of the transverse leaf spring?

whats it under is more important though...

check this weird setup out:

This is under the Ranger EV (electric vehicle)

Quote
The rear suspension consists of a De Dion tube that located the wheels and which was sprung by the usual longitudinal leaf springs. As the first year production (1998) used lightweight carbon fiber leaf springs, which were insufficiently resistant to transversely locate the DeDion tube, these early versions also contained a Watt's linkage. Later versions used conventional steel leaf springs and did not require the additional linkage.

Now that's cool, I haven't seen very many uses of the De Dion tubes, but I love the idea of the offset ends, usually straight gear driven. Would make packaging so much easier, they're just so damn expensive.

some lotus 7s had dedions, but the solid axle was more common from lack of complexity etc.
another perk to dedion is that you can run inboard disk brakes.= no unsprung mass from brakes, and your uprights see less load under braking

Really hard to tell but they look like full floater ends, which would not be for a 4WD spindle. Could just be the wheel.
