overheating issues

Yeah, I don't know about an LS stat, but first gen and LT1s usually move between a quarter and 3/8ths.

so my temp sender is before the t-stat, which is after the outlet of the rad.
even for that under 120F seems really low i think.

and someone mentioned possibly damaging the t-stat through overheating in that thread as well...

maybe it's time to move the sender to a different spot.

everyone talks of the rear pass side head plug to use, but that sounds like i would have firewall/brakebooster issues getting to it.

know if its on the rear face or the side?

Where is the sender you are using now?  Is it the factory sender?

They also mentioned in that thread that the system might be low on coolant or have an air pocket around the sender.  One of the same possible issues for overheating.

Factory the sender is in the front of the driver head on the side above the cylinder one exhaust port.  If you flip the head around and put it on the passgenger (they are the same head side to side) it will be in the rear above the cylinder eight exhaust port.

nope, its the aftermarket one in the t-stat housing.
