I read through that a few days ago, that is one weird build, but I like it.

I know a few people with fender rollers, never seen a s10 with flared fenders.  most people just roll the inner lip for clearance, not many actually try to flare the fenders out...unless you're one of those "stance" kids with stupid offset wheels that don't fit.

I've thought about taking this approach to flared fenders on a 1st Gen.

Seems like a lot more work than just cutting, welding, heating & filling panels to give it flare.
If you can't say anything nice.. post it on the internet!

Oh, and after reading that last article about the roller... a nice wooden baseball bat is problably at a house near you. Maybe even at a resale shop for $5.. sure beats all the work to build some tool that might get used 4 times. Hot rodders have been using bats for years.

its actually more difficult with a bat than it sounds.
i've done both the bat and the eastwood roller, and neither are super easy to get well.
the rx7 has the bat method going, but it needs more.

I've never used a roller but have used my bat. Didn't find it difficult at all.  Personally, I like to raise the car & run it (the bat) around first & then lower the car & repeat. Using different angles & spots on bat.

finished off the rx7's fenders with a bat. at least the lip is rolled flush on all corners now.

i have a feeling i'll be pulling the front fenders pretty hard though....
