I made it to motor oil 105.a long read and some very interesting info.I personally use synthethic oils.Gf gets Royal Purple 20-50,and the old lady gets Castrol Syntech 5-30 and a quart of Dura Lube.I started using Synthetic back in the early 90's,like he said, because of the high film strength, staying on your parts instead of just running off and leaving your cylinders and bearings pretty much dry.I'm not so sure I agree with the part about " the only time oil is lubricating is when it is flowing",thought that was the point of engineering in the higher film strength. If the only time oil is lubricating is when it is flowing why hasn't someone built an electric oil pump thast comes on when you turn on the key with a little idiot light on the dash telling you your engine is lubed and it is safe to start it now?
A TRUE hot rodder is NEVER finished with a project.

I believe they do make pre oilers.
ball joints, shocks, an idler arm, a locking differential and doors, I need them all.
